4 Things Every Parent Should Know
Before Choosing a Dance Studio
1. How Do I Know What My Child Is Learning?
Each class at BBDC is divided by age and level. The basic structure of each class consists of a warm-up, across the floor and dance routines. All genre’s contain age appropriate steps, as well as techniques from our syllabus. In the pre-school program, dancers progress learning the fundamentals of dance. At the age of 2 , the young student is taught to love dance through our many creative fudamental’s. At the age of 3/4, dancers learn basic ballet/tap terminology. When they are 5 and 6, In addition our kindergarten has an . option to learn is an introduction to hip hop or jazz As our dancer grows our students get a taste of all the main techniques of dance.
When the student reaches first grade they choose if they would like to learn Ballet, Tap, or Hip-Hop/Jazz. They can certainly choose more than one style, but are not required to take ballet to be eligible to take another class. Each class progresses through a syllabus specific to the age and technique.

3. Can I get immediate assistance and customer service?
In many studios the teacher or studio owner conducts classes and does the administration. By trying to do two jobs at once, the class may suffer as the teacher has to use class time for customer services issues, or the studio may have no customer service available if the teacher is in a class. To have a good experience it is important to choose a studio that can assist you with details like costumes or schedules, even if the teacher is occupied in a class. Our studio has office staff on hand during all regular class times, so you can get immediate assistance.
4. What are the teacher’s and school qualifications?
One probably thinks if a studio offers dance classes, they must be qualified. A truly qualified instructor has many years of training in the arts. Great knowledge comes with this. Students have a structure in which to progress. Our teachers have the necessary attributes for a dancer to develop proper technique and knowledge. Broadway Bound Dance teachers are continually learning as we attend dance seminars and conventions yearly. One of the most important philosphoy is You need to be able to relate to a child.
